Printing replies WITHOUT the OLD message thread ?

Many replies come to us replete with the text quote of the prior message.
In turn, the prior message might include a whole message string of other
replies in addition to the original message. As a result, a reply of only a
few lines may actually end up being several pages long by the end of the
message string. Each reply seems to grow, yet we have no control over the
respondents e-mail settings to include the quote, nor can we edit the
message to delete the quote. The old message thread is great as a
reference, but often we don't need to print the old message thread - we
already have printouts of all the prior messages and replies. Is there any
easy way to set a preference or option that would print only the current
message without the old message thread quoted at the bottom? Is there some
way to edit a reply from someone in order to delete the quotation portion?
We are using Outlook 2002 and would appreciate any help.
