Searching in Shared Contacts

I have an end user attemping to search for contacts utilizing the Find
toolbar. When entering in and searching for first names such as Bob or Lisa
it will not bring up any contacts even when there are no less than 10
contacts with those names in them. The advanced find tool will work,
however, it is inconvient. Any ideas or fixes?
