Outlook Connectivity

I previously used Outlook for two e-mail addresses. One was for my former
company, the other AOL. I left the company so I intentionally deleted the
company e-mail address connection. Unfortunately, now my AOL connection is
constantly "off line". I have to hit the "send/receive" button to either
send or receive mail or re-file an e-mail in my in-bos to a different file
folder. How do I get the connection to remain "On" all the time like it used
to?
Thanks for your help.
