Re: Sending email failure - away from home

It does and what they are not telling you is that you have to be on their
network and not someone elses in order to send main. (means no sitting in a
Disney hotel, Starbucks wi-fi hotspot, AOL, .etc and hoping to use Charter's
SMTP server of smtp.charter.net as your outbound mail server in mail
client.)

More or less, they are saying that if you are traveling, you need to use
their web access for mail.

Have you thought about getting a free e-mail account at Gmail or some other
place so that you can use them as your SMTP server when traveling?

As I mentioned, my ISP is Charter and they said I should be able to
send email via Outlook (as far as they are concerned). For your reference
the error get is "Task edgomez@xxxxxxxxxxx" - sending reported error
(0x800CCC67): The server responded: 421 charter.net connection refused
from
(207.189.196.214). I hope this helps .. Thank you.

Who is your ISP and do they support an alternative means of sending mail
when you connect to someone else's network?

Using Microsoft Outlook, I can't send email when I'm away from
home. It appears that a setting isn't set correctly re: the outgoing
mail server. I'm receiving email without a problem. Can you help ?
Thank you.
