I have given all info and error messages on previous thread which of
course you did not see. Anyhow, my configuration is as follows: by
the way windows vista Mail works finw with the same settings but not
outlook 2007: pop.orangehome.co.uk
smtp.orangehome.co.uk
I get error 550 when "SMTP requires authentication" is ticked.
Unticked; I get error message: "None of the authentication methods
supported by
this client are supported by your server".
According to Orange, the POP server is pop.orangehome.co.uk, the SMTP server
is smtp.orangehome.co.uk, the username is "yourname.orangehome.co.uk",
outgoing server authentication should NOT be checked, the outgoing server
port is 25, the incoming server port is 110, and neither of the "This server
requires an encrypted connection (SSL)" boxes should be checked. While this
is unusual, since this means that Orange doesn't care about spammers using
their SMTP servers as open relays, these are the settings Orange claims will
work.
