Hi Hal,
I thank you for your response. I contacted the hosting company of my web
site and they got me working properly. I do not know what they problem was
with the setup with my IsP - but all is ok now. I want to thank you for your
help and tell you how much I appreciate the community Discussion Groups.

What happens when you try to send? Do you get any error messages? If you.
do, would you post it/them, please?

Dear Hal: I am having a similar problem. I lost my hard drive and had to
re-install all my software. I can receive my emails through Outlook from
my
POP3 ISP (WildBlue.net) but I cannot send. We (Wild blue and myself) have
gone over all the protocol and all seems correct. Why can I receive the
emails, but cannot send any through Outlook 2003? I can send and receive
fine if I go directly through the Wild blue email account. thank you - I
really need help.

Its very unlikely you'll be able to make an SMTP (outgoing) connection to
1and1's POP (receiving) server. According to 1and1's email FAQ, your
sending server name should be auth.smtp.1and1.co.uk.

Hi I have a really annoying problem with outlook, I have set up outlookemails
to
send and receive company emails which are included in our hosting
package
provided by 1 & 1 Internet, our ISP is AOL, Outlook will receive all
sent to the company email addresses but when you try to send an emailusing
outlook it will hardly ever be sent, there are a few occasions where itto
sends, but not often. I have just tried again and received the
following
error message,
Task 'pop.1and1.co.uk - Sending' reported error (0x80042109) : 'Outlook
is
unable to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you
continue
receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internetservice
provider (ISP).'1&1
I have double and trebble checked the details of the servers, contacted
Internet and AOL regarding this but nobody has any idea why it wont
work.
Please Help me.
Thanks.
