Re: Migrating from Outlook 2007 Beta 2 TR to Outlook 2007 Retail

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Thanks Sue

I want to make sure that I understand. Here are the steps that I think
you are saying.

1. Uninstall Office 2007 Beta 2 TR
2. Install Office 2007 Ultimate

Thats it? When I open Outlook my old mail and settings will be there?
My mail accounts are POP, not exchange.

Thanks. You have been very helpful!

No! Importing is bad, bad, bad! You shouldn't need to do anything at all. Removing Outlook does not touch your mail profile settings. If you want to create a new mail profile anyway, use your existing .pst file as its default store.

Thanks Sue

So after I reinstall Outlook 2007 I simply need to import the .pst file
that I saved before I uninstalled the previous version?

Thanks

Your mail already *is* in a .pst file. No need to create another. Back it up if you want to be extra careful.

Hello Everyone and thanks for your help in advance!

I need to uninstall the Outlook 2007 Beta 2 TR from my computer (along
with the rest of Office) and then install the new released retail
version of Office 2007.

I can't think of any issues that I might have with the rest of office.
But I am worried about the Outlook portion. Only in the sense that I
don't want to loose my old email! This is not exchange ... simply
multiple POP email accounts.

Will backing up the mail to a .pst work? Do I need to create a .pst
for each POP account or does one .pst do it all? Does doing this save
all of my personal folders too? Do I need to print off all of my
emails before doing this?

Thanks! Your advise and experience is appreciated?
