Re: Outlook 2003 error message 8004210A

Most of the time, disabling Norton's Antivirus component for email resolves this problem.
Leave the real time antivirus enabled, just disable the inbound/outbound email checking.

By all means, switch to Thunderbird if it is the best email client for you.

Running fresh install of windows xp (sp2) pro with full installation of
office 2003 (sp2 installed).
Cannot get outlook to connect.
Using pop3 email account. All e-mail set up info is correct but using test
account settings. will connect to network but then says that test account
settings have been cancelled with both pop3 and smtp server status as
cancelled.
Send / Receive sends seems okay but stalls at 50% no matter how long the
server timeout setting and returns above error (8004210A) or an alternative
of 80040154- error not known on the recieve process.
Any ideas or must I move over to thunderbird or whatever for my emails.
