Mittu:
Thank you for your quick response. Unfortunately, the suggestions there do
not seem to have alleviated the problem. So you know what steps I took, I
checked the settings and account information for each Mail profile listed
(there were a total of 15: "Dahron Johnson," "Microsoft Outlook," "Microsoft
Outlook Internet Settings," and "PstloadTmp000-012") and made sure that each
was correct and connected with the appropriate .pst file and profile (except
for the string of tmp ones). I then created a new profile--though it seemed
a bit redundant--with all the same settings, saved it, and restarted
Outlook2003. This, it turns out, only made things worse. Not only did the
IMAP account still refuse to appear, but I could not even initiate a F9
send/receive of the POP account. I then closed Outlook, reopened Mail, and
set it to prompt me for a profile when I opened the program, so that I could
go through each to find if any of them worked. Only the "Microsoft Outlook
Internet Settings" mail profile would allow a send/receive--and of course,
even then, only of the POP account.
Two other odd things I noticed in the interim: First, in going through each
of the mail profiles, I noticed that when loading the partially functional
"Microsoft Outlook Internet Settings" profile--and only this profile--will I
see the send/receive button start to load, but then disappear. In a
non-delivery related matter, I cannot seem to find a "rules" menu
anymore--either by right-clicking on a message, or through the nomal menu bar
options.
In any case, I appreciate your reply, Mittu, and I'm sorry that it was not
as useful as both you and I hoped. Of course, if you or any others have any
questions or suggestions, I am always happy to hear them and try them out.
All the best, and I look forward to further replies. All the best.

To All:
After giving Outlook2007Beta2 a rather crash-ridden try, I've reinstalled
Outlook 2003. However, upon reinstall, I noticed that the send/receive
button was missing. I also noticed that one of my two e-mail accounts (an
IMAP one; the other is a POP) was not displaying in the folder list--even
though it was listed in my accounts page, with all settings correct.
Deciding I might be able to kill two birds with one stone, I deleted the
account, closed Outlook, re-opened it, set up a "new" account (containing the
same settings as the previous), and all seemed to be well. Except for the
fact that the folder still doesn't show up in the Folder list. And I can't
add it from the Send/Receive settings menu, either: once I select it to be
included in the send/recieve group, and then click on "ok" to finish, the
menu just sits there doing nothing. To get back to Outlook03, I have to
cancel out of the send/receive settings menu--but this, of course, cancels
the addition of the IMAP account to the list as well. Proving this, an
F9-initiated send/receive only does so for my POP account--which has been
acting fine the whole time.
So, any suggestions from folks out there about a setting or change I might
need to make to Outlook2003 after reinstallation following an Outlook2007
install/uninstall that might solve--or even just work around--this set of
issues? I appreciate your time and attention to these question, and hope
I've given you enough information to make a reasonable stab at an answer
(speaking of which, the machine itself is a P3, 1.0Ghz, 384meg, running XPpro
SP2--and the Outlook2003 is running all updates as well). Of course, if you
have any questions or suggestions, please post them here, and I will respond
as quickly as possilbe. Thanks in advance, and I look forward to your
replies. All the best.
