Clicking links in Outlook

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I keep getting an error whenever I try to click on a link. If someone sends
me an email with a link in it and I click on the link, this is the error that
I receive.

"Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not
properly installed."

What is the reason for this and how can I correct it?

Thanks,
Ergeordie
