This doesn't seem to do anything. I've set each of these and Outlook still
makes you reply in "rich text". Has anyone a solution?

Actually there *may* be a way; do you know how to use the group policy
editor? In there, under Administrative Templates -> Microsoft Outlook
2003 (OUTLK11.ADM) -> Tools | Options -> Mail Format -> Internet
Formatting -> Outlook Rich Text Options: you have these options under
"When sending Outlook Rich Text messages to Internet recipients, use
this format"
- convert to HTML format
- convert to Plain Text format
- send using Outlook Rich Text format
Maybe this could do it?

I think there is no easy way to do it. I've had to do this a couple of
times in the past, and I've copied the RTF text into word, then saved it
as HTML, and copy/pasted it into the converted mail message.
The formatting will slightly change, but still mostly preserved.

My preferences and signature are set up using html format. It is my
work's
standard signature, so I can't change it from html.
When I try to reply to an email that is in rich text format, the default
reply format is the same as the original message (ie rich text) which
stuffs
up my signature. However, on the format menu it does not give me the
option
to convert the message to html, only plain or rich text.
I can get around this by converting to plain, then the format menu will
have
the html option. I can then select html and reinsert my signature (which
has
by now lost its formatting). This is a huge hassle. Any ideas of how I
can
set my email up so that replies are automatically in html regardless of
original message, or at least so that html is a format menu option when
replying to a rich text message?
