I am not sure exactly what Alvin is trying to do. In an Exchange Server
environment, I would assume that his e-mail (more specifically, mailbox) is
already a personal folder. You can easily create subfolders and move
messages between the inbox and subfolders. But the heading seems to suggest
he wants to add items to a *.pst file. This is not possible. The pst file
is the backup of personal files, and Outlook does it without any user
involvement. Adding stuff to it is not possible. OL does it by itself.

Since Alvin seems to be operating in an exchange environment, the pst file
works differently there. In my experience (when my home office PC
synchronized OL with an Exchange Server via dialup, the pst file is
maintained on the network, not on the user's pc. The offline user ends up
with a file called *.ost, which is the offline version of a *.pst file. It
does not behave the way the *.pst file does and the relationship between the
two is a little involved. Here are some MS KB articles that might be
