i have 5 of them running various services.
As for the error number it means that there is some sort of timeout
occurring. Have you tried the registry key in
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;827349&sd=RMVP?
The only other thing that I can think of to ask since searching this error
number out is, is pop/smtp using SSL and SPA authentication? (and is the
port for SSL 25 or 465?)
