Could you turn on diagnostic logging (see
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q300479) and post
the OPMLog.log file (preferably as an attachment) after you've received
some of these dups?

As to your vent, there are many ways in which duplicate downloads can occur
- it's not as simple as a single problem that can be fixed. Some of the
posts about duplicates are related to problems that have been solved but
the users haven't installed the service pack that fixes them. Others are
configuration problems that are easily corrected. There are also some mail
servers that make it impossible to tell which messages Outlook has already
downloaded (there's nothing we can do about those). Finally there is a
small (I believe) class of error whose cause I'm still working to track
down. Your log files would help me determine which class of problem you're
facing.
