Dear Craig,

Thank you for posting here.

>From your post, my understanding on this issue is: You wonder how to backup
POP3 mail content. If I'm off base, please feel free to let me know.

Based on my knowledge, Outlook generates PST file for POP3 accounts and
downloads mails to this PST file. We could look for and backup all PST
files in your hard disk as below.

Step 1: Please follow these steps to show hidden files and folders:

1. Double-click "My Computer" icon.
2. Click "Folder Options" under the Tools menu.
3. Click the View tab, choose "Show hidden files and folders", and click OK

Step 2: Then use Search feature to look for all PST files through hard
disk, and copy these files to another computer.

For more precise backup, in Outlook XP/2003, you could right click the
"Personal Folder" container which you would like to backup, in General tab,
click Advanced button, you can see the path to store the PST file, you
could backup this file directly to another computer.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other concerns or
questions. Thanks and have a nice day!

Thanks & Regards,

Lee Li

| Hello,
|
| I have a user who I'm upgrading to XP Pro, they are using Microsoft
Outlook
| XP or 2003, their e-mail is hosted by a POP3 outside account so I know
all
| of their e-mails and what not are being saved locally. I want to be able
to
| move all that information off the computer, do the upgrade and then bring
it
| back. If I move the archive file is that ALL of their information or
would
| I be missing something. This is very critical data so I don't want to
| slip:)
|
| Thanks Craig
