How do I make calls with a headset and not a hand set? Help!?

When I make a call I can dial out and ring the number I want. BUT, when I
click on "Talk" it disconnects the call.

I am using a headset. I am not using a "hand set".

How do I make a call using a headset, or is it impossible in Outlook 2003?
