Yes, the assumption is that users will click on absolutely anything they
receive in email. Have you read the numbers of infections for all of the
bagle, mydoom, etc. viruses sent via email?

You are probably the exception and are intelligent enough to not open
attachments sent from people you don't know who profess undying love,
pictures of celebrities (that you did NOT solicit), etc.

So, yes, Microsoft is protecting the vast majority of users from themselves.
If you are not one of the great unwashed, read up on the workarounds for the
security settings - google is your friend. In this case, pandering to the
lowest common denominator is NOT a good idea.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, jeff 12345 asked:

| CHANGE THE AUTOBLOCKING!! make it selectable. For the nth time it
| has blocked a file I needed that was emailed to me and I knew was
| safe. Do you presume that everyone is so stupid that they can't
| figure out what's safe and what's not! If there is not a fix for
| this, I'm dumping Outlook and going with Eudura Pro.
