Hi all

I am running MS Outlook 2003 and am trying to sign an email which I
want to send.

I have created my own self-certificate using the programme "EldoS PKI
Tools V1.1.26". I have then gone to Outlook's Tools>Options>Security
and Imported the "Digital ID (Certificates)" which I had earlier
created.I have also set up a "Default Setting" called 'Kirk Cert'. All
looks well here.

The problem I then get is when I create an email and the press the
'Send' button I get an error dialogue saying:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
"Invalid Certificate"
Microsoft Office Outlook could not sign or encrypt this message
because you have no certificates which can be used to send from the
e-mail address <my email address is inserted at this point>. You can
do either of the following:

Get a new Digital ID to use with this account. On the Tools menu,
click Options, click the Security tab, and then click Get a Digital
ID.

Use the Accounts button to send the message using an account that you
have certificates for.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I had hoped that I could use my own self generated certificate as I do
not require Root CA authentication from a third party, e.g. VeriSign.

Is there something I am doing wrong here

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks
