I'm not sure what you're trying to do...it sounds like the sender of the
message set that "read by" flag on the message, and that when you didn't
read the message by that date, your Outlook turned it red because of the
existing "Overdue" automatic formatting rule you have. In other words, if
you wanted someone to read your message by a certain date and then mark it
overdue after that, you'd be the one to set the flag on the message before
you sent it.
