Outlook not closing properly

after i instaleld outlook i updated it and noticed that
when i clsoe it it leaves an instance running

i open it and close again and it leaves anotehr instance
running

any idea how to stop this as its takign up resources

using office 2000 pro

Something I Just Noticed...
... A big difference between the older XP Pro I have it running and Vista ... Ultimate is the difficulty I'm having making sure ... to have only one instance running on my ability to edit "scrap.text". ...
