Double-dates in calendar

Some time back all of my all-day dates in my calendar doubled up. That is,
for every all-day entry, holidays, birthday, anniversaries, etc., an
'additional" day was added, the day immediately before. At least, that's
what it looks like on the calendar. It's actually not quite so; it looks
more and more like everything got shifted an hour early.. Let me explain.
First, the situation. I'm using Outlook 2002 on my desktop computer. Last
fall, I bought a new computer running Windows XP Home (replacing one that
ran Windows 98). I connected my old hard drive to me new computer to move
data and imported the .PST file.
Right around the time this oddity occurred, I bought a Timex Ironman
Datalink USB watch. I mention this because I've seen information where I
infer that a new device making a data connection to Outlook can sometimes
give Outlook the willies.
I use a Pocket PC, an HP Jornada 568. Part of what I do with that is use it
to synchronize the data between my desktop and my notebook, which I using
Outlook 2003 (the latest version). doing this has never been an issue.
Here's what happens and what I see.
Looking in month view, I see all my all-day events. When I click on a
holiday (say Mother's Day), the appointment that opens up says it starts
(again using Mother's Day as an example) at 11pm on Saturday, May 8 and ends
at 11pm on Sunday, May 9.
Birthdays also seem to span 2 days, but with no times. My birthday, for
example, is August 15, yet the calendar shows it to span Aug. 14-15. When I
double-click on the Aug. 14 portion, the appointment date shows August 15.
I have a class in my calendar. It's supposed to be 6-9 on Wednesdays. Those
appoiintments now start at 5.
Since this began, I have not synchronized my PocketPC because I am afraid
that this corruption will spread.
i have thought of trying to delete and re-enter birthdays and anniversaries
in my contacts, but I cannot delete the date object that ebeds itself in the
notes area of the General tab of the contact. When I double-click on it, I
first get a security mesage, then a message thatt says "The path specified
for the file c:\WINDOWS\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst is not valid." I believe that is the path
to the .PST file on my old Windows 98 machine, which tells me that when I
imported my data originally, the path in these objects didn't update.
So I am in a bit of a quandry. One approach was to delete the appointment
data on my desktop, and hope that when I do a synchronization of my
PocketPC, the appointment dates will be re=populated. I dont' know if that
will really happen though because the deletes would be more recent than the
existing PocketPC data. Can this be done, and if so how?
I also don't know what to do about the embedded datas in the contacts that
can't be manipulated. I'm open to ideas.
