Outlook is deleting my Contacts for some unknown reason . . .

I have 2,300 of Contacts, and from time to time I will search through them
for someone and the contact will be gone. I can always find it in my
"Deleted Items" folder, which is, uh, OK, except if I happen to be on the
road with my Motorola MPX200 Smartphone or Ipaq 6135. I synchronize my home
computer with my laptop using the Motorola (and sometimes a HTC/Seimens
smartphone) and synchronize my work computer with the Ipaq. Has anyone out
there had this problem, where the computer just seems to decide that I don't
need a contact anymore and deletes it?
