Contacts don't seem to be recognized

I just upped to XP and Office 2003 and have one significant problem.Although my contact folder has all my contacts in it, when I enter a name in a new message, it is not recognized and the To: line is not automatically filled as it was with Office 2000. I restored this .pst file using a backup progrem, but have done such before within 2000 and all was well. I am going a bit nuts onthis - anyone help? Thanks -Neil
