Distribution List shuts Outlook Down on Opening

I have looked all over for an answer to this problem. I
created a new distribution list from names that were
already in my contacts list. When I click on this
distribution list to reopen it after I have saved the
list, outlook shuts down (sometimes with an error message,
sometimes without). How can I fix this? I think I can
use the list as is, but would like to be able to edit the
names in the future.
