Re: Outlook 2007 Delegation issue

I would look CLOSELY at the delegate rights that are given via the
Supervisors Outlook setup.

Notice ALL the settings for that particular Delegate. I am pretty sure
that something is set incorrectly.

One thing to look at is the Supervisors rules. Is the supervisor forwarding
via a rule to the Delegate?

Is there any other Delegates that the supervisor has? If so, check their
Outlook settings to make sure that no other is forwarding the meetings
to the Delegate.

Another thing to check is, how is the delegate actually accessing the
Supervisor's calendar. Are they actually working from the Supervisors
Calendar? Or are they really just using their own Outlook?

Hello all,
I am sorry this is long winded, but I wanted to detail as much as I could on
my issue. I have a very strange calendaring issue with a user in my
organization that has delegate access to the mailbox of her supervisor.
Occasionally when a meeting invite is sent to the Supervisor, the meeting
that is forwarded to the delegate does not state "meeting on behalf of...",
but puts the Delegate as a required attendee. This causes the delegate
confusion as she is not sure what meetings are actually for her or not.
Here are some things to note –
-The biggest likely cause: The supervisor has a Windows machine with Outlook
to set up his mailbox settings from, but uses Mail.app on a Mac PowerBook
99%
of the time to access his mailbox via IMAP.
- We are running Exchange 2007 (08.01.0375.002)
- HT and CAS services are hosted separate from the mailbox servers.
- The delegate settings on the supervisor’s mailbox are correct (and I have
even stripped access and set it up again for the delegate)
- The people creating the meeting invites are inviting the Supervisor and
not the Delegate
- All users are using Outlook 2007 SP2 (12.0.6504.5000)
As I support many users in our organization that have delegate access to
other mailboxes, but this particular user is the only one that has ever had
an issue like this. I am certain is has to do with the supervisor using
Mail.app (as he is the only one in the organization with this
configuration),
but I have been unable to get any useful information via web search.
Any suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks!
