    Jocelyn,

thank you for explaining this. I'm getting optimistic - but still
    have one or two worries.

I don't know yet which Outlook version my new employer uses, but I
have Outlook 2000 on my laptop, running in Internet Mail Only
    mode.

    >From what you say, I should be able to export a PST file from the
"Exchange Outlook" at work (no matter what version) - but it will
import as "a separate set of folders" on my laptop. I need to sync
the calendar on my laptop to my PDA (no USB ports at work) - will
this work when the calendar data are in a separate folder?? How
can I merge the data before syncing?

The same problem may, perhaps, arise the other way around. That
is, when I sync the PDA and laptop, any changes made on the PDA
should be transferred to the laptop. I should then be able to
export the updated calendar data the PST file, mail it to myself
at my work e-mail address, and restore the PST data there. But
will that work? That is - will the data integrate, or wind up in a
    separate set of folders?

    Regards,
    Richard
