Departing calendar owner, legacy appointments

We are a large organization running OL2K. A secretary
leaves, his account is disabled. Every future meeting
(recurring or unique) he has set as a delegate remains on
other calendars. How does the new secretary, with a
completely new account, alter or delete these legacy
meetings? (Hint: emailing every attendee and asking them
to delete each meeting is NOT a useful answer!!)
