Thank you for the reply.
I just finished looking at Office 2007 to see if this more recient version
has more features in this regard. However, I can't figure out how to get the
"split text between two slides" feature to work. It is not on the small icon
that appears to the right of the text where you can control auto-fit. The
2007 help file says to just put an "enter" on the line, while in outline
view, but that doesn't do anything but add a blank line to the current text.
Perhaps it is a bug.
If I type more text than will fit in a placeholder text box, I get the "Split
text between two slides" as one of the options on the little gadget that appears
beneath the text box.
If your AutoCorrect | AutoFormat as you Type options are set not to autofit
text, I'm pretty sure you won't see these autofit options, though. You might
want to check that out.
You can also press Ctrl+M while the cursor's in the text box to start a new
slide automatically
