Thank you for a lesson of etiquette.
But that is a strange practice which, seems to me, serves no purpose at all. People can still see the " offending part " from the original post.
My motive was simple and straightforward, to point out SPAM. No charade.

Simply delete the offending part of the original meassage when you reply. It's usually considered "proper" to add the word SNIP or similar to indicate something has been removed. See the word that was 'ignorance' below.
