Re: Optional Fonts in the Theme Builder

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Hm, that's odd.

Those "optional fonts" list various fonts for various asian languages. It lets you specify a font for a specific "foreign language" (for lack of a better term). I wonder if something you're doing is changing a language setting or something.

If you're not specifying languages and fonts there, I probably wouldn't worry about it too much. But, as Steve says, maybe you can crack open the XML and copy that section. Then if it disappears again, you can check the XML and add it back in if it's truly gone. It could just be a bug in the Theme Builder Utility.

By the way, have you got the latest Theme Builder? It should be 0.1.3366.26328 (Help | About will show this to you). If you downloaded it from Connect, then you have the latest. ( I suspect you do, because you've mentioned the Themes SDK, and I see that's part of what they call the Help file now. :-) )

When creating a custom Theme, I understand my very first step should be to
apply a Built-In Theme, then immediately save my new Theme, to ensure that
font definitions for a collection of standard scripts are included in my
Theme automatically. This can be confirmed by opening the custom Theme in
Theme Builder and making sure the "Optional Major Fonts" and "Optional Minor
Fonts" lists under Theme Fonts on the Colors & Fonts tab are populated. I do
this, and it maintains for a while, but at some point I'm doing something
which clears these lists again. Is there any way to repopulate them?
