Re: Powerpoint 2007 cannot load the add ons

Well I have reloaded the ones Steve suggested and they opened somewhere but
when i interrogate the add ins in PP there are none there still. Perhaps I
need to reboot to activate them or perhaps they have opened somewhere where
they are not associated with PP. I just let them open where they will as i
thought they will know more about it that I do. Needless to say i still get
the error message at the opening of PP. I have had enough for today i will
play again tomorrow with any new suggestions you can come up with.

Thanks again for your help.

The exact message is the "PowerPoint couldn't load the add in". I have read
elsewhere that the offending add in has been named but unfortunately not with
me. I have done what you said as to identifying the add ins that I have with
my PP and I had some but I had already deleted them all so now I do not know
which ones I had! All I have left now are some DLL files. If I do a search on
my PC for .ppa files then I get the following

masterBar c:\program files\RnRPPToolsV2\masterbar.ppa
RNR Optimiser C;|program files\RnR PPtools V2\RnR_optimiser.ppa
RNR Protect same as above protect.ppa
RNR Starter Set smae starter set.ppa

For the ones listed above, reinstalling should sort out the problem.
You can download the installers at http://www.pptools.com/downloads.htm
You'd want Optimizer, Protect and Starter Set (no need for MasterBar as it comes
with each of these).

Or if you want to get rid of them altogether, email me at steve at-sign pptools
dot com. I'll explain how to do it.

I hope this info means something to you as at my level it means little.

Thanks for you help.
Sorry I have posted my question 3 times but when I posted it I got the
message that it was unable to load the question at this time try again so i
did 3 times!

I would be a little reluctant to delete any of the Add-Ins that came with
PowerPoint 2007. What is your exact error message? If you click on the
Office button, PowerPoint Options, Add-Ins you will be able to see which
Add-Ins you have installed in your PowerPoint

After upgrading from Office 2003 to 2007 I get the dreaded message that
seems
to be manditory for upgraders. I have read reams of advice from experts but
none seem to tell me what .ppa files I am expected to see with 2007? After a
search for .ppa I have got rid of an obvious ancient file but still get the
error message. Can someone tell me what .ppa files come with PP 2007 or is
it
safe to delete them all?
Thanks
