Re: Default Fonts in Powerpoint 2007

The blank.potx (or blank.potm neither work) are stored default in
C:\Documents and Setttings\Default User\Application
data\Microsoft\Templates. So that the first time a user logs on a copy of
the template is put in their profile. I have checked the Templates folder
after the error message and the powerpoint file there is the one renamed to
oldblank, there is no new template put in its placed. It almost seems like
Powerpoint just can't read the template. The other thing is that I've
recreated the template several times today. I could understand if one file
was curropted but all of them?

Thanks.

Isn't that what you want?...the file to be renamed and then the default
font (actually, the default template -- blank.potx) to be loaded?

It sounds to me as though your users already have blank.POTX files, and
your image is overwriting that. Maybe you need to write a script to delete
their blank.POTX before deploying the image?

I'm building an image to be massivley deployed and I require a default
font for PowerPoint 2007. It was my understanding that this is done
through the Master Slide and saved as either blank.potx or blank.potm and
placed in %appdata%\Microsoft\Templates and that would be the default
template loaded.

The first I open out Powerpoint 2007 though I get the message
"The install language for Office has been changed. Powerpoing cannot user
yoru current version of "blank.potx". Your current version of blank.potx
has been renaimed to "oldblank.potx" and can be found in C:\Documents and
Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates. Please see help
for more information about how to reuse the settings in your original
file" You can click OK or Help.

If you click OK the file is renamed and the default fonts are loaded

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Cameron.
