Don't have time for a longer response, but this one
5-there is an instance where there is a photo of someone with a text boxt to the left with three words on three successive line. The last letter on the word on the first line wrap down and puts itself on the second line.
....makes it seem like a missing font issue. That could also be causing some of the bizarre spacing issues you're seeing with the other stuff.

OK, heres a few examples: (there were several)
1-there was (is) at least on situation where a text box with, say, six lines of text with normal spacing shows on the new CD that on the new CD shows with maybe 8-10 spaces between two words where there is the nomal ONE space when I look at it on the system.
2-there were two instances where successive lines of scipt with a time entrance set at RISE UP. I think there's ten line...each one stopping below the preceeding...so where all have come up you can read them all at the same time. The first few, it looks like every letter is coming up on top of one another and is compressed into the area the size of a dime, then all of a sudden, one comes up perfectly, then the new few come up mess up, like the first one.
3-there was one heading text box where everything is centered in the old version, and on the new CD, the text is way up on top, and only the top or the bottom of it is actually visible...I don't recall which..
4-there is the instance I mentioned in the post where a 10 second .avi (supposed to run concurrently with audio) does not run...stays black....while the audio runs. All set at auto and across sides, and with previous ( like I said , this looks all great when run on the machne)
5-there is an instance where there is a photo of someone with a text boxt to the left with three words on three successive line. The last letter on the word on the first line wrap down and puts itself on the second line.
Those are the ones I can decipher on the notes that I was scribbling as I tried to watch the new CD.
Call me naive, but I was hoping against hope that PP2007 would be smart enough to be able to convert 2002 in an intellible way, but......
Now this wouldn't be so bad if I could see all this stuff and just fix it....but I can "see" any problems in the original .ppt.
I'm thinking the best fix may be to go in and totally re-create the problems slides, re-pulling from the outside anything I need, re-formatting, re-timing, and deleting the old slide. The avi. was created in 2007, so I don't know what to do there.....maybe just try to do what I want to do with a still.
Part of the difficulty is having to go thru the entire CD to get to the bad slides...like I haven't been though this presentation 200 times already. I have love-hate relationship with PP. Is it just me, or by the time you get done with something......you never want to see it again?

"Jim Varner" <pinger@xxxxxxxxx> wrote in message news:eZ8JlrM7IHA.2064@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxHey-
I've been updating a presentation in PP2007 that was created in PP2002. After (exhaustive) tweaking and checking for accuracy, I found that when I created the new CD, then ran it from CD, that it was not WYSIWYG....and I'm confused. When I run the show on the system it runs perfectly. When I run it from CD some things have changed. What is confusing, when I go back to check the issues in the (now original) 2007 file, I can't see see the problems.....so it's all but impossible to know what to correct. In addition, I have a small .avi that runs (or is supposed to run) during the show and the same situation exists....runs on the computer....stalls and never runs on the CD. Can anyone tell me what I'm experiencing here (other than frustration and hate) and offer a solution? Thanks.
