PPT 2003 didn't have anything like this. I mean, there are autoshapes you can use to create a flowchart, or there's the Diagramming applet (Insert | Diagram) with an organization chart and other diagram types (but no flow chart), but there's nothing that will add shapes to your flowchart based on you choosing Yes or No.
Are you sure this wasn't a third-party add-in to PowerPoint? Or perhaps you were using Visio or something similar?

I’m trying to create a flowchart that has “yes-no” switch for each item. So
after making each box I can right-click it, and choose “yes” or “no”. It will
then automatically create a subordinate box in a different shape. I remember
this function in 2003 but I can’t find it in this version!
