Hi,
I have the same problem with my new HP workstation and PowerPoint2007.
To be sure I checked and the problem is also present with PowerPoint2003 but
not with 2000.
Something we seem to have in common is the NVIDIA graphic card.
Did you get any solution to that problem yet?

Apparently, I was not clear in my question. The powerpoint presentation
plays on full screen mode - this works fine. However, the embedded cine
files only play if they are set to cover the entire screen. If I set the
cine file to play on one section of the screen, it will not play. That
section of the screen just goes blank when I get to the slide with the
cine.
This happens with the laptop alone - even when there is no other screen or
projector plugged in.

Are you saying they will not play full screen on the lappies monitor, or
a
monitor you attach to it. (Two very different things.)

I recently purchased a new lDell latitude D630 laptop and upgraded from
office 2000 to office 2003. The video clips in a powerpoint
presentation
that played on my prior computer with powerpoint 2000 all go blank when
I
get
to those slides on my current computer. When I edit the video clips to
"zoom
to full screen" they do play on the new laptop. However, I really
don't
want
to play them on the full screen. Furthermore, when I loop the video
clips
on
the new laptop, I see the background slide momentarily between each
cycle
of
the video clip loop. I tried changing the screen resolution, but this
does
not seem to make a difference. The video clips all play fine in
windows
media player.
