Re: problems getting mp3 files to play

That would indicate three possible issues.

1. You have to long a path/file name to the linked MP3.

2. You do not have the proper codec installed and registered as the
default.

3. The MP3 contains DRM (Digital Rights Management) in it and if so it can
not be used in PowerPoint. (As you downloaded this from Amazon I would bet
that is the issue.)

I have Powerpoint 2003 SP3.
I downloaded MP3 files from Amazon and added one of them to a slide
using
Insert, Movies and Sounds, Sound from a File. My down loaded files are

path of C:Downloads - Music so the lenth of the file shouldn't be a

I can right click on the speaker and select Play Sound and the MP3 file
plays
(after a 5 second delay???). However, when I play the Slide Show it

Option, on the Effect tab I selected Start - from the beginning, Stop

- after 999 slides . On the Timing tab I selected Start - after

Delay 0. I think it has something to do with the next slide but I have
tried
everything I can think of.
