Create a folder in C drive.
Put both the ppt and mp3 into the folder.
Now, delete the mp3 and re-insert. See if it works this time round.

I have Powerpoint 2003 SP3..
I downloaded MP3 files from Amazon and added one of them to a slide using
Insert, Movies and Sounds, Sound from a File. My down loaded files are at a
path of C:Downloads - Music so the lenth of the file shouldn't be a problem.
I can right click on the speaker and select Play Sound and the MP3 file plays
(after a 5 second delay???). However, when I play the Slide Show it goes
past my MP3 file and never plays the music. In the Custom Animation, Effect
Option, on the Effect tab I selected Start - from the beginning, Stop Playing
- after 999 slides . On the Timing tab I selected Start - after previous and
Delay 0. I think it has something to do with the next slide but I have tried
everything I can think of.
