PPT 2007 handles this differently than previous versions, Maureen. That's why it seems different to you.

I don't have a problem with this at all. When I highlight the text that is needed to be changed, I find that there is a square box around the text, backgroung then becomes temporarily slightly lighter navy colour.Quite visible and easy to alter in 2007 when highlighted.
Perhaps I am misunderstanding your question? A newbie.

They are working on a slide in PowerPoint where the background is navy and
the text is white. When they select the white text within the text box, it
is highlited in white so all you see is a white block...you can't see the
text to be edited even though it is still there.
You can make changes, but you are blind to it while you are making the
changes because all you can see is white.
Can you help?
