Re: PP 2007 screen view question

The "noncommercial use" tag is on the Home and Student version of Office. It
is not supposed to be used for commercial work, so if you're not doing these
presentations for free, you may want to look into purchasing one of the
other suites -- or even just PPT as a standalone.
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/suites/FX101677751033.aspx has info on
the various Office suites. Probably Standard would be fine.

To put the presentation into slide show view as opposed to normal editing
view (which is what you're seeing now), just click the slide show icon
(looks kind of like a screen on a stand) in the lower right corner of the
screen. Or hit F5 key to start the show fromt he beginning -- or Shift+F5 to
start from the slide you're currently viewing in normal editing mode.

Alternatively, you can use Office File Button | Save As and choose
"PowerPoint Show," which opens the file in slide show view when you
double-click to open the file in Windows. You used to be able to just rename
the extension from PPT to PPS, but that doesn't work any longer in PPT
2007 -- you have to actually save the file as a PowerPoint Show file.

If you need to open the file in normal editing view after you've saved it as
a PPSX (PowerPoint Show file), just open PowerPoint then go to Office File
Button | Open and navigate to the PPSX. Then you can edit it as usual.

We'll be running a PP Presentation for a wedding. We've got the correct
cables etc. and know how to do that part. When we hook the computer up to
a
TV to check how everything looks (it'll be run through a projector onto a
large screen), the top of the screen shows the black bar with "Microsoft
PowerPoint non-commerical use - and the minimize/maximize/close buttons.
How do I prevent that bar from showing?

I have loved working with PP 2007 btw. Once I got over my fear of the
different look, it been fun working with it.

Also, since that note on the black bar says "non-commercial use", does

mean I technically can't use this version of PP to create shows for paying
customers? I've never done that, but have had some requests from friends
who have weddings coming up. PP came with the new Dell portable I bought
in
February.
