Re: FIXED

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I am an old-time victim of the Red X (I think it's a Martian thing), and
this unpredictable and non-reproducible thing with disappearing images has
happened to me before as well, so I definitely get the Z-ray DeathStar
thing. Resistance is futile as The Borg used to say. Is it possible that
Adobe can cause this? I do have Adobe 8 Pro and have been using it a lot
recently and noticed that it embedded itself in my PowerPoint tool bar.

Thanks.

I rebooted my computer and that was all there was to it. I tried manyof
the
presentations in my files and they all had the problem but after reboot
everything was fine.

I'd appreciate hearing from you if you have any idea what caused this.

Unless it recurs predictably, it's all but impossible to say. But usually
this
kind of thing is a one-shot weirdness. A powerline glitch or Z-rays from
DeathStar Adobe or something ...

Thank you.

My other presentations WERE working, but now all of them show the same
problem. I am going to go back and check the video card again. Could it
be
anything else?

Thank you.

Hello John and Ute,

I did the video acceleration thing. I should have said the following
earlier. The problem is only happening in this presentation and one
other
that I had the same problem with months ago. All my other
presentations
are fine.

Could it have to do with one of the images I copied off of the Web
that I
put in the presentation? Not a virus necessarily, since virus scan is
okay and I have no other problems, but maybe something embedded in an
image file? I can't seem to reproduce the problem but I am going to go
through each image individiually, copy each to another presentation,
and
seei f one of them causes it.

What do you think? Thanks so much.

I know that you said troubleshooting video card produced no problems
but
did
you adjust the hardware acceleration settings? Get back if you don't
know how
to do this

Hello,

In normal view, the slides appear in the left window pane but not in
the
main window. They are visible in slide show as well. If I copy any
of
the
slides from this presentation to a fresh presentation it still
happens.
This
is not the first time I've had this happen. I have attached an
image.
Can
anyone advise? I will have to re-create the slides which I would
prefer
to
not have to do. Thank you.
