Hi Shyam
I think you'll find that if you name a GROUP with vba the name does appear
in the animation pane even in earlier versions than 2007
Neat trick. That got me thinking along the lines of "OK, so to name a shape so
that it'll appear by name in the animation pain, we can just dupe the shape,
align it with itself then group the two and name the group."
That's where it started to get weird.
If you don't name the shape first, it works ok but if the shape's been named,
the new shape inherits the same name and since two shapes can't have the same
name (except when they can) PPT starts tossing wobblies.
Among other things: deselecting one of the same-named shapes when you
click/drag to select them both.
Or if you do Ctrl+Click, it deselects the second shape as fast as you can
select it. Third try's charmed ... it takes three Ctrl+Clicks to make it work.
Except when it takes two. Or more than three. Three usually, though.
But if you then rightclick on the way to grouping, woops, it unselects one of
the shapes again.
You certainly do know how to keep an idiot entertained, sir.
