Re: ActiveX control to insert WMP changes "full screen" Props on i

If the file is a true wmv (using Microsoft codecs) then there is no need to
use the WMP, it should play natively in PowerPoint. If you can send me a
copy of the wmv version I'll be happy to examine it for you.

Hi Austin.

I have no idea how to write that kind of VBA macro.. i do know about macro
writing in excel (to automate procedures and calculations) but only as a
"back end" tool rather than produce a nice "front end".

I have recorded the GE movie using the their Movie tool (CTRL+0) which
allows you to record at different quality rates but as a wmv (by default).
It does allow you to record as an AVI but a 20 second clip ends up being
about 100MB!! The movies i have recorded have played straight away in
both
WMP10 and WMP11 with no messing around. It also played straight away in
the
WMP that was inserted as an ActiveX control into Powerpoint.. this is the
only as far as i understand that you can play a GE movie in PP.

You will need to write a VBA macro to control the media player.
Basically
you will need to include a with events module, trap the next build on the
correct slide, and then adjust the properties of the media player.

By the way, have you actually been able to play a Google media file in
WMP
or did you convert it to another file type?

The only way to insert a Google Earth movie into powerpoint is using an
activex control to insert windows media player, otherwise powerpoint
crashes
(a known GE problem). So I've done this, and I've changed the
properties
to
show the movie "full screen".. when I run the PP Presentation it plays
the
movie "full screen" first time around, but if I then run it again it
plays
it
within the WMP screen within the slide rather than full screen.. if you
then
check the activeX properties, it's changed to say false next to the
"show
full screen" on its own!! any ideas why??
