Can I play only specified frames of a movie in ppt

Hi all,
I have searched the FAQ and Google for answers to this question, but with no
luck. I have several large files (600mb) of hourly imagery from
meteorological satellites. Sometimes we wish to show the whole video but on
other occassions we wish to only show frames 2003 to 2545 etc. Is there a
way I can arrange to have different pages in ppt load and play different
frame ranges. I am happy to do some VB but would like to see some examples.
Ideally I would also like to have controls for speed and step forward
backward frames. The movies are created from single gif images so I have a a
lot of control over which codecs to use. The MS Mpeg4 codec gives me good
quality and size but not sure on the step frame. I note the reference to mci
commands in some of the tutorials, but no examples on how to use them.
many thanks
Jeff Wilson
