Re: Powerpoint music problem

If you can't get all what you have tried to work and it don't. You can put the
mp3 file into the same folder as your presentation. Then, insert it into your
presentation and save it as a .pps file then send it and the mp3 file to your
friends. when they open your email and save the files it should play as you
expected on their systems as long as they have the PowerPoint viewer of full
version of PowerPoint installed on their system.

I wonder if someone can help me. In the past, I've received some lovely
Powerpoint shows (.pps) in email with music. They open full screen as
soon as I click on the link in the email. I've been trying to do
something similar for a first time. I've read everything I could find
about doing it and have it pretty much figured out... except...... the
music is a problem. I wanted to have an MP3 from my hard drive to
accompany the slide show. And, of course, the MP3 will play just fine
on my computer but won't work when I send it to someone.

So.... I read about using the program called Cdex to convert the MP3 to
WAV file that could be embedded in the show. I downloaded that progranm
converted the file.. and put the music file in the same folder as the
show, etc, as advised. Also increased the maximum size of the music
file as recommended in the settings of Powerpoint. I created a totally
new .pps with the new wav file but the music won't even play on MY
computer now doing it that way when I try to view the show. I'm
obviously doing something wrong. I'm using Powerpoint 2000 and the CDex
version is 150 (I learned that 151 won't work with Windows98 which is
what I have).

Does anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong.. ???? I'd
really appreciate any tips you might have. Sorry about such a long
message but I'm trying to make sure I'm clear about my problem.

Thank you......
