Thank you again, Michael... As mentioned in my first message (see following), I did try the program that adds a header but that didn't work out for me either. I do appreciate your suggestions... I'm anxious to try any tip I read about. Maybe some day, I'll finally get it but right now, I'm not very hopeful.
I read about using the program called Cdex to convert the MP3 to WAV file that could be embedded in the show. I downloaded that program converted the file.. and put the music file in the same folder as the show, etc, as advised. Also increased the maximum size of the music file as recommended in the settings of Powerpoint. I created a totally new .pps with the new wav file but the music won't even play on MY computer now doing it that way when I try to view the show.

If there is no MP3 file coming with your presentation, then it is a wav file, and it is embedded in the presentation.
