Dianne,
Go to Tools - AutoCorrect options - tab format as you type - uncheck the
last checkbox at the bottom of the dialogue. While you are at it study the
others and uncheck any you do not want. I have PPT 2003 here so I am not 100
% sure the option is down at the bottom but it should be in the dialogue.
