I think you're in the wrong newsgroup because this is the PowerPoint newsgroup.
However, the attachment remains attached to the email you received. If you
reply to the email, you don't want to send the same attachment back to the
sender do you? If you forward the email on to someone else, it is assumed that
you DO want to send the attachment.
If you've modified the attachment and want to send the modified version to the
sender, you'll need to attach the modified version to the email, not the
original.
