I'm not sure why this happens, but you're not the first it's happened to.
To start Setup in maintenance mode, insert your Office CD, locate SETUP.EXE in the main
folder on it and doubleclick its icon. Setup will detect that Office is installed
already and start in maintenance mode automatically. It'll offer several choices ...
you want the one about adding/removing features.
