microsoft update does not work

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I am a vista home premium user. a week or two ago I had an invalid office2003
version, due to an error of my school. Now I installed a valid
KIS-contract-version, validated by ms-genuine.

However, I don't receive SP3 and other necessary updates.

When I run microsoft update from the V6-website, I get
http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/vistadefault.aspx?ln=nl
followed by a "windows update"-window saying me that "windows is up-to-date".

As I installed the software on a desktop (xp home) too, I remarked that on
that pc, office update worked normally.

Can you please help me with my vista laptop? Tanks a lot!
