For Outlook 2003/7, the 0x800CCC81 indicates an invalid e-mail address. One
way to duplicate is with an email adress of first.last.@xxxxxxxxxxx As you
can see, the "." right before "@" is what triggers the error number.

Even if you e-mail address looks to be well formated (rfc compliant), try
removing and re-adding the mail account.

Thanks for the advice. The error code has one extra letter C, thus
0x800CCC81. There is nothing in the event log in regards to XP starting
automatically and no BSOD with an error code. Have checked kb938814 and
event manager for error code listed in kb938814 and it does not appear in
event manager.

is trying to work with Outlook's contacts, you might be hitting

There are some known issues with SP3 and 3rd party addins to Outlook.

I updated my computer with Office 2003 SP3 and now the following has
happened:
1. I can't send emails and get error code 0x800CC81,
2. The computer with XP SP2 reboots automatically after shutdown, and
3. My VOIP wireless base won't show the contacts list on the VOIP
handset.

Everything worked fine before the update, any sugesstions on how to fix
these problems.
